Betty, a senior from Hamden, knows the anguish of making it during these tough economic times.  She was in need of a lifeline or some ray of hope.  Neighbor to Neighbor for utility assistance provided that bit of help!

Social Security is often the only means of income and many seniors have turned to programs for help.  Betty is one of those seniors and has now an added challenge of providing for family members, a daughter and granddaughter.  Families and joining together in the day to day struggle during harsh times.  Grandparents are taking in the adult child along with any grandchildren to prevent more homelessnesses.

Needless to say, Betty's utility bills have soared while income is stagnant.  The grant monies have helped provide that bit of salvation as any bit of help is well appreciated.
