Community Soup Kitchen

There may be an economic downtown in the country, but the N2N project shows me that there is no recession of hope in New Haven.
Those of us in the non-profit world lead a duel existence. Every day we work with, live with, and share in the lives of needy people. We know people who have nothing and they count on us for help.
Yet, on the other side of our daily lives, there are those who have the resources to help and are willing to do so.
It’s interesting to me that as much as the people in the street rely on us for their most basic needs; we (the non-profits) in turn rely on the generosity of the community to meet those needs.
In our cynical world where “taking care of #1” is a priority, it is difficult to explain how grateful we are to those who still believe that we have a responsibility to one another and that caring for one another is not a waste of time.
