Mrs. Mary Johnson is a recovering addict who has had problems trying to stay clean. Shehas been clean 6 months. Mrs. Johnson is married and lives with her 61 yr old husband and 8 month old child. She was released from jail in March and came to our agency looking for any help she could obtain in order to provide for her family. She is unemployed and the only source of income is her husband who works part-time. They found themselves struggling to make ends meet. After carefully assessing her case, the program was able to provide support by enrolling her in the Diaper Bank and Food Bank.
Mrs. Johnson has frequently expressed her gratitude for the services we provide. It gives her peace of mind to know she doesn’t have to worry about diapers or food every week. . Mary and her husband obtain fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, pasta, and sometimes milk and eggs at the food pantry. Recently Mrs. Johnson completed an employment training course at CT Works. We are working on a resume for her that she can use to apply for work. Her goal is to obtain employment.
The family is doing well and they continue to receive services at Centro San Jose. Mrs. Johnson is taking a CNAcourse at Stone Academy and her husband has recently found full time employment.
