With the N2N Grant we are able to help meet the nutritional needs of families, especially those of single parent homes within our community. Due to the economy the grocery needs of families have increased and thanks to N2N we are able to help supplement those needs with good quality food through the Angel Food program. Below a single mother of 2 children shares her appreciation.

 

Angel Food has been a tremendous help to my family. Being that I work in NY most of my income goes towards transportation as well as child care services for my two children. At the end of these expenses there were times when I didn’t have enough money to buy 2 weeks of groceries. With the aid of Angel Food I was able to work the arrangements of purchasing one week of groceries and then the second week Angel Food would supply me with food. Being that I get paid bi-weekly these arrangements would hold me over until my next pay day.

Angel Food helps people like me who are not eligible for food stamps or other programs to function better when there is not enough food in the house. Angel Food provides me with healthy foods for me and my family and because of this program I now eat more vegetables.

 

My son and I cook more because Angel Food provides us with simple instructions that are easy to follow. I enjoy the variety of fruits and meats and I look forward to the surprise deserts.

 

I hope Angel Food will continue their program by providing for people like me who are in need.
