My name is Cheila Serrano and I am the Program Coordinator of Family Management at Junta for Progressive Action.

JUNTA has partnered with the Connecticut Association of Human Services (CAHS), and now we are using a new online screening system called "Earnbenefits" online.

Earnbenefits online is a service that pre-screens and finds out instantly if the client qualifies for any public assistance like SNAP, Care 4 Kids, HUSKY A / B, TANF and more.

Thanks to Neighbor 2 Neighbor funds, once the client gets screened by the Earnbenefits Program and we apply for the public help for them, the client then leaves Junta with a $50.00 grocery voucher that could help the family until they receive their SNAP, TANF or other public assistance.

The Emergency Food Voucher has helped lots of family that are struggling financially and cannot afford food for their household. Many are single mothers and others are two parents household that just don't make enough money and can use as much help we can give them.
