Give Time

 

These are just a few options for potential volunteer projects.

  • Deliver meals to the sick and home-bound

  • Volunteer to take elderly neighbors to the grocery store, or pick up their groceries for them

  • Work with an existing organization to provide, prepare and serve meals 
  • Shovel snow for a neighbor who is disabled, elderly, or just needs an extra hand
  • Help a neighbor weatherproof his or her house
  • Donate new or gently used blankets to a shelter

  • Volunteer at a nursing home, or elderly center

  • Bring healthy snacks to an after school program

  • Help a low income family find free tax preparation services in their community and take advantage of the earned income tax credit, or volunteer to be a tax preparer. Click here for more

  • Volunteer to take a neighbor who doesn’t have transportation to work

  • Volunteer to baby-sit for a neighbor

  • Serve a holiday meal to the homeless
